ABOUT

Created in 2003 by producers associated with APRO, FilmBrazil was founded with the mission of positioning Brazil as a leading global hub for audiovisual advertising production.
Developed by APRO in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion
Agency (ApexBrasil) — a key strategic partner since 2005 — and with the support of the Audiovisual Promotion Division (DAV) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the platform connects global agencies and production companies with Brazil's diverse creative industries, offering a wealth of expertise and unique filming locations for impactful advertising campaigns.

A pioneer in the industry, FilmBrazil plays a crucial role in preparing its members for the international stage, encouraging alignment with the highest global production standards. To support this, it maintains strong partnerships with leading organizations such as APA (UK), AICP (USA), and CFP-E (Europe), while cultivating a robust network of creative talent, production companies, and market agents worldwide.

Today, over 50 Brazilian production companies are part of the initiative, operating with excellence in directing, production, post-production, animation, music, sound design, and visual effects (VFX). In 2024, these companies generated an export volume of US$ 53.7 million, representing a 5% increase over 2023. According to ANCINE, more than 3,380 foreign audiovisual projects were officially registered in Brazil last year.

The United States is the leading client for Brazilian services, accounting for 40% of international productions, followed by the United Kingdom (28%), Japan, France, and Germany. The most in-demand shooting locations were Rio de Janeiro (60%) and São Paulo (38%), with additional highlights in Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul, and Amazonas.
